Einstein Was Wrong, Eisenhower Was Right...
Quotes from and Commentary on Adi Da's book Not-Two Is Peace by Fred Rohe
"So long as there are men there will be wars" - Albert Einstein
"I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it." - Dwight D. Eisenhower
...he could have been right once again if he had said something like,
"As long as humankind continues to base
its behavior on a fundamental spiritual error, there will be wars."
Einstein was wrong in his statement because he didn’t allow for change.
Eisenhower was right because he tapped into changes that are upon
us now. His statement expressed the intuition of three things:
The actual establishment of peace,
The minor role that will be played by governments
The major role that will be played by the people.
